Undergoing radical brain surgery to treat an otherwise incurable seizure disorder, she not only survives this massive assault to her organ of identity and personality but takes the ordeal a step further: she thrives and writes it all down in an inspiring mix of faith, intense drive, and a genius for storytelling that clearly stands unperturbed. She is an example to all of us as living proof of what our own brain, this fantastic organ of cognition, is truly capable of. I salute her in this story, her own, and admire how she utilizes it to teach the rest of us how to confront challenges head on, while educating us about the brain. Fantastic and medically accurate!
