Amy was stricken with epilepsy from childhood. As she learned to live with the reality of her seizures, she also sought of ways to control them. Diet, activity, sleep - nothing seemed to stop the frequency of her seizures. As the seizures intensified her desire to be cured only grew more. Finally she was given hope when her doctor suggested that her type of seizures could be treated through surgery. In 1994, she went under the surgeons' knife and woke up free of the seizures that had filled her life.
Amy has written a book about her experience to share with others entitled Rejoice in the Light: A Woman’s Journey Out of the Mystery of Epilepsy. It is her story about the disease, her faith and ultimately her healing. It is meant to be an encouragement, a story of hope, as well as a practical guide in treating epilepsy.
Today, Ms. Crane speaks to groups about her journey through epilepsy. A born-again Christian, she has spoken to women groups, ladies retreats, banquets, and congregations about how God helped her through the valleys of her illness.
